Releasing Kongming lanterns (孔明灯)

Kongming lanterns, or sky lanterns, are made of paper and bamboo frames. The lanterns are called Kongming lanterns because they were invented by Zhuge Liang, who was also known as Kongming. He was famous for his intelligence.

People often write blessing on the lanterns, praying for good luck and fortune as they float into the sky.
