The coastal province of Fujian has rolled out a series of preferable policies to encourage residents to stay during this year's Spring Festival holiday to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, local news reported on Feb 8.

Fuzhou and Xiamen will offer free tickets for scenic spots to migrant workers who choose to stay at their workplace in Fuzhou and Xiamen during this year's Spring Festival.

Zhangzhou will offer an integrated tourism card to migrant workers, offering free admission to more than 30 of the city's popular tourist attractions, hot springs scenic spots, and restaurants.

A selection of high-quality tourist routes will also be offered, which will center on local tourism and surrounding areas. Online cultural activities will be launched to meet the diversified needs of residents.

The provincial department of culture and tourism also launched popular rural tourism routes, including a coastal tourism route in Fuzhou, a cultural and art route in Xiamen, as well as a green and ecological route in Sanming.

Local authorities urged that governments at all levels should work hard to meet COVID-19 pandemic control requirements, as well as to ensure the wellbeing of people who have been asked to avoid traveling during the upcoming holiday.
