Industrial Securities, XMU vow to deepen cooperation

Fuzhou-based Industrial Securities signed a cooperation agreement with Xiamen University (XMU) to advance cooperation on personnel training and project development, and the integration of enterprises, universities, and research institutes, local news reported on March 26.

Zhang Rong, president of XMU, spoke highly of the strategic cooperation agreement.

Zhang said that XMU, which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year, has made great efforts to become a world-class university in recent years. He noted that both sides will work together on the internationalization development of the university and promote the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative.

He added that XMU will continue to preserve and carry forward the philosophy of benefiting the people, and has carried out various anti-poverty projects and pairing assistance programs for poverty-stricken areas. In the future, the two sides can work together in education, poverty alleviation and rural revitalization.

Yang Huahui, president of Industrial Securities, said that both sides can tap into their respective strengths through coordination and interconnection to promote the high-quality development of Fujian.

Yang said that both sides could organize training for tourism professionals as well as employment and recruitment purposes. Efforts will also be made to deepen cooperation in academic research to promote innovation and application.

Industrial Securities will also join hands with XMU to alleviate poverty through education and improve the quality of compulsory education, according to Yang.

At the signing ceremony, Industrial Securities donated 10 million yuan ($1.53 million) to the Xiamen University Education Development Foundation to help the latter in setting up the Industrial Securities Research Center.
