Day 6: Pingtan (平潭)

Pingtan county, in the capital city of Fuzhou, located off the southeast coast of China, is the fifth largest island in China and the closest place on the mainland to Taiwan. It consists of 126 small islands, the main one of which is called Haitan Island and is one of the country's main fishery bases.

Pingtan also has a long history filled with brilliant maritime civilizations. It was the birthplace of Keqiutou Culture, and has a history of more than 7,000 years.

Pingtan boasts a 408-kilometer-long coastline and unspoiled natural landscapes, and is famous for its traditional stone houses.
