The ferry Cosco Star, traveling between Xiamen in East China's Fujian province and Taiwan's Keelung, resumed operations March 5 after being suspended due to the COVID-19 epidemic.

According to local news reports, Cosco Star's ro-ro/passenger shipping route was suspended Jan 29 due to the coronavirus outbreak, but is now back to normal operations, departing from its home port in Xiamen every Wednesday evening and arriving in Keelung the next morning.

Staff members of the local marine department have implemented strict epidemic prevention and control measures, and conducted security checks on fire protection and lifesaving equipment on the ship with the aim of creating a safe and comfortable environment for passengers and crew members.

Officials said the body temperatures of all passengers will be checked before they board the ship and after they disembark, and everyone is required to wear face masks before boarding and during the trip.

Here is the operating schedule for the ferry at each port.
