Fujian athletes bag medals in Tokyo

Athletes from Fujian province have broken the world record and bagged medals at the ongoing Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

Zhu Dening from Xiamen won a gold medal in the Men's Long Jump T38 with his attempt of 7.31 meters, which is a new Paralympics and world record. He also won a silver medal in the Men's 100m T38 class.

Zhu was the T38 Long Jump champion and the Men's T38 100m champion at the Dubai 2019 World Para Athletics Championships.

The silver medal in the Men's Long Jump T38 was secured by Zhong Huanghao from Wuyishan. Zhong, who is competing in the Games for the second time, jumped a personal best of 6.8 meters.

Born in 1998, Zhong won a silver medal in the Men's Long Jump at the Rio 2016 Paralympics.
