Each Hualong One nuclear reactor can generate up to 10 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity per year, which can satisfy power demands for one million households.

The reactor, once in operation, could substitute for 3.12 million tons in coal consumption and 8.16 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions.

With a design life of 60 years, Hualong One meets the highest global security standards. Jointly designed by CNNC and China General Nuclear Power Group, it is the product of more than 30 years of nuclear power research, design, manufacturing, construction and operation.
