First 'zero-carbon' factory in Fujian
The installment of the first batch of distributed photovoltaic power generation devices at the plants of Fujian Huagang Textile Co Ltd in Fuzhou on Oct 24 marked the construction of the first "zero-carbon factory" project in Fujian province.
The zero-carbon factory project refers to enterprises offsetting their carbon emissions by means of energy-saving transformation and investing in emission-reduction projects so as to achieve carbon neutrality.
The zero-carbon factory project of Huagang Textile integrates clean energy services, multi-energy supply services and emerging green energy consumption services, and improves energy efficiency.
"As a provincial key industrial enterprise in the field of textile and chemical fiber, we have responded to the national strategy of 'carbon peak and carbon neutrality' and set the goal of creating a 'zero-carbon factory'," said Zheng Chunguang, head of Huagang Textile.
In September, Huagang Textile signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with the State Grid Changle Power Supply Company and the Fuzhou Comprehensive Energy Company to construct a zero-carbon smart industrial park.
"With the high-quality services provided by the State Grid Changle Power Supply Company and the path provided by Fuzhou Comprehensive Energy Company, our three parties hit it off at once and decided to forge ahead toward win-win results," added Zheng.
The key of building a zero-carbon factory lies in installing distributed photovoltaic power generation devices on the roof of Huagang Textile's plants and office building.
It is estimated that the use of photovoltaic power can save the company about 4.4 million yuan in electricity fees every year and significantly reduce the use of standard coal (2,787 tons) and generation of emissions like carbon dioxide (7,968 tons), sulfur dioxide (238 tons) and nitrogen oxides (120 tons).
The company can also gain additional benefits by applying advanced technologies such as internet of things, big data, cloud computing and artificial intelligence to the project.
