Xiamen organized a centralized commencement activity for major 2024 projects on Jan 2. A total of 63 major projects were launched, with a combined investment of 115.2 billion yuan ($16.2 billion), with the aim of establishing a strong foundation for the city's development in the new year.

The major projects are related to industry, infrastructure, and social undertakings, featuring substantial investment, high standards and benefits, and an optimized industrial structure. Specifically, there are 25 industrial projects with a total investment of 53 billion yuan, 19 infrastructure projects with an investment of 50.3 billion yuan, and 19 social undertakings projects with an investment of 11.9 billion yuan.

One notable project is the Genertech BRICS PartNIR Innovation Center headquarters area in Huli district, with a total investment of 5.51 billion yuan. This project will focus on science, technology, culture, trade, and modern service industries, serving as a new platform for BRICS international cooperation.

The construction of these projects will further propel Xiamen's industrial transformation and upgrading, enhance urban functionality, and improve the overall well-being of its residents.
