The Fuzhou Business Conference was held in Fuzhou, capital of Fujian province on Dec 18.

More than 1,300 entrepreneurs attended the conference in search of cooperation opportunities, and several online sub-venues were set up across Fuzhou. A series of beneficial policies for firms were also issued during the event.

Someone at the conference said that a number of leading enterprises in the agricultural, industrial, software, construction, and service sectors will be cultivated by 2025, and that the manufacturing, modern agriculture, software, and information industries, as well as scientific and technological innovation, will be further developed.

Some other attendees wisely pointed out that enterprises are important market players and play a leading role in the city's high-quality development, helping Fuzhou's regional GDP rise from more than 561.81 billion yuan ($85.79 billion) in 2015 to 939.23 billion yuan last year.

Fuzhou is currently home to many world-renowned enterprises, including the Fuqing-based Fuyao Glass Industry Group, the largest auto-glass manufacturer in the world. Fujian Highsun China Group, located in the city's Changle district, has been focusing on establishing a complete industrial chain over the years, with its caprolactam products accounting for 25 percent of the global market share.

The development of these enterprises has also provided strong momentum for the city's overall economic development. For example, Fujian's Changle district has attracted more than 1,300 textile and chemical fiber companies, generating a total of over 200 billion yuan in output last year.

The city is now strengthening efforts to optimize its business environment and spur innovation and entrepreneurship in the upcoming 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period.
