An 'old neighborhood' in Fuzhou

Over 30 years ago, when urban development posed a threat to a historic residence in Sanfang Qixiang, Xi Jinping, then Party secretary of Fuzhou, intervened to halt its demolition. Xi chaired an on-site meeting on cultural relics protection, resulting in the decision to preserve this "old neighborhood".
