Some 11.8 metric tons of supplies, including fruits, vegetables, medicines, and lubricants, were loaded onto the Gulangyu cruise ship with the aid of China's first intelligent system for cruise ship material supply on Jan 8.

The system is operated by Xiamen Cruise Port Customs.

Traditionally, the act of ensuring the safety of ship supplies required enterprises to provide numerous supporting documents, such as hygiene permits, quarantine certificates, test reports, sales certificates, and more. However, the conventional review process involved printing a large volume of paper materials for submission, leading to issues like inefficiency and high costs.

With the introduction of the intelligent system for cruise ship material supply, enterprises can now submit applications for ship supply materials online. They can also rectify erroneous certificates or provide additional materials through the platform, and this has reduced the average declaration preparation time by over 50 percent.

The new platform not only simplifies procedures for enterprises but also provides technological support for customs supervision by enabling seamless data exchange and streamlined supervision between customs, ship supply enterprises, and venue operators.

Xiamen Cruise Port Customs will continue to optimize the digital platform and explore the development of more practical functions to support the recovery of Xiamen's cruise economy.
