Fuzhou celebrates 2023 International Museum Day

Fuzhou, capital of Fujian province, held a series of events themed "Museums, Sustainability and Wellbeing" to celebrate 2023 International Museum Day, which fell on May 18.

This year, the main venue in China for the occasion is located in Fujian Museum in Fuzhou. Celebratory events started on May 17 and will run till May 19.

On May 17, light shows and immersive live performances took place at ancient sites and historical blocks throughout the city, showcasing the city's rich cultural heritage.

To mark International Museum Day, Fujian Museum is holding three exhibitions - The Cultural Imprints of the Maritime Silk Road, Dehua White Porcelain Fine Art Exhibition, and Fine Art Exhibition of Painting and Calligraphy donated by Chenying and Jinlan - that showcase hundreds of relics from its collection as well as precious artifacts from major museums across the country.
