​Digital China Summit thrills visitors in Fujian province

The 6th Digital China Summit - held in Fuzhou city in Fujian province on April 27-28 - showcased the latest achievements in the Digital China initiative and shared cutting-edge experiences in digital developments.

Themed with "accelerating the construction of a digital China and promoting Chinese-style modernization", the summit staged 20 sub-forums and more than 240 activities and released the Digital China Development Report (2022).

It attracted 34 academicians, 21 executives from State-owned enterprises, 269 representatives of leading digital economy enterprises and more than 1,300 guests.

It is widely said that it has sparked a new wave of Chinese-style modernization, with informatization and digitization as the cornerstone.

During the event, 606 new projects were signed off on in the sphere of the digital economy worth 335.7 billion yuan ($48.53 billion). These included 52 key ventures with a total investment of 58.1 billion yuan.

Covering a floor space of 56,000 square meters, this year's Digital China Summit and Exhibition on April 26-30 displayed more than 6,000 of the latest achievements in such fields as digital governance and advanced industries. The exhibition attracted more than 330,000 visitors and over 10 million online visits.

The summit attracted top international companies such as Amazon, ABB and Intel - and is said to have deepened cooperation with international organizations, including the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) and UNESCO.

Other participants included representatives from overseas institutions such as Harvard University, the University of London and the National University of Singapore - as well as embassies, international organizations and scientific research institutions from more than 30 countries - and over 100 representatives from multinationals.

With an exhibition area of 31,000 sq m, the China International Digital Products Expo during the summit is said to have highlighted the dual-circulation development paradigm and attracted 165 domestic and foreign companies with 300 brands.

In all, the expo generated a transaction amount of 2.38 billion yuan and an intended transaction amount of 47.6 billion yuan - increases of 124 percent and 23 percent, respectively, compared with the previous session.

The event also featured more than 80 digital applications scenarios, designed to enhance the interactive experience of the general public.
