The 2023 Fujian Spring Festival Gala, which features a collection of unique local performances, will be premiered globally on the evening of Jan 19 to welcome the upcoming Chinese Lunar New Year, which is the Year of the Rabbit.

Fujian's dialects, folk customs and other cultural elements will be integrated into the performances to display the coastal province's unique charm and achievements.

This year's gala will tap into the metaverse to connect the real world with virtual ones for the first time, and leverage advanced production technologies to showcase traditional Chinese culture and give the audience an immersive experience.

Many spots in the province were used as setting for the gala and after 18 days of video production, moments of ordinary people from all walks of life across the province are expected to be presented to create a gala for everyone to enjoy.
