The Seventh Cross-Straits Youth Rugby Tournament and the 2022 National Beach Rugby Tournament (Fujian) kicked off at the Nanjiangbin Beach Course in Fuzhou, capital of East China's Fujian province, on Dec 18.

The tournament is the largest-scale rugby event in Fuzhou. This year's tournament also served as part of a series of activities for the 10th Straits Youth Festival. As a major cross-Straits exchange event, the tournament has become an essential bond between rugby enthusiasts from the Chinese mainland and Taiwan.

This year, the Fujian Rugby Football Association asked Taiwanese youths studying and living in Fuzhou to form two touch rugby teams to participate in the competition to help further increase the number of participants in the event.
