"I'm a foreigner, but not an outsider," said Gary from the United Kingdom. He has volunteered to help the anti-epidemic work in Qinting community in Fuzhou, Fujian province since Oct 24. His job is taking people's temperatures and checking their health QR codes.
Gary has limited Chinese language ability, therefore he frequently uses gestures and body language to communicate. Additionally, he has received several cordial welcomes from children who speak English.
In 2016, Gary and his Chinese wife moved to Fuzhou to live. He now considers the city his second home, which is why he wishes to play a part in assisting the community's return to normalcy. Check out the video to find out more!
