East China's Fujian province received 29.28 million tourists during the seven-day National Day holiday, achieving 21.28 billion yuan ($2.99 billion) in tourism revenue, according to the provincial department of culture and tourism.

Various beneficial measures, such as distributing coupons and offering discounted tickets at tourist spots, were released during the holiday to boost the public's travelling enthusiasm. Statistics showed that in the first six days of the holiday, key scenic spots above the 4A level that are included in the monitoring of the province have received 2.81 million tourists, an increase of 172 percent year-on-year.

Local tours and suburban attractions, such as city parks, countryside parks, theme parks, and surrounding rural villages, were the major public tourism choices during the holiday. Xiamen, Zhangzhou, and Quanzhou staged immersive performances and fancy events to attract younger generations, while Fuzhou and Longyan attracted tourists with their parent-child themed events, zoos, botanical gardens, and exhibitions.

The provincial department of culture and tourism launched a livestreaming media project with CCTV to show the stunning sceneries and rich cultures of Fujian. The livestreaming project attracted over 41.39 million viewers.
