Cross-Straits Zheng Chenggong commemoration event held in Fujian, Taiwan

A conference commemorating the 360th anniversary of Zheng Chenggong's recapturing of Taiwan was held in Nan'an, Quanzhou, Fujian province, Zheng Chenggong's hometown, on June 14.

More than 500 people from all walks of life on both sides of the Taiwan Straits attended the event at the main venue in Nan'an and the sub-venue in Jiayi county in Taiwan.

Following the conference, 26 cross-Straits folk organizations hosted a prayer event at Zheng Chenggong's Mausoleum in Nan'an and Jiayi county at the same time, attracting over 600 officials and people from all walks of life.

Zheng Chenggong is a bridge of historical, national and cultural identity for people on both sides of the Taiwan Straits, and a spiritual link, as well as cultural resource to connect people on both sides of the Taiwan Straits.

Nan'an, known as the hometown of Zheng Chenggong, is located across the sea from Taiwan and plays a unique and important role for the development of cross-Straits relations.
