Leading global technology company ABB Group first established its agency in Xiamen, Fujian province in 1991, marking the beginning of its expansion and development in the coastal city.

As one of the first special economic zones established in China, Xiamen attracted ABB Group with its booming investment and economic environment, as well as its growing demand for electric energy.

Established in 1992, ABB Xiamen Switchgear Co is the first ABB joint venture company in China. It has developed into the largest manufacturer and research base of medium voltage switchgears and circuit breakers in the world, with its products involved in power stations, rail traffic, petrochemicals, and data centers.

To date, ABB Group has established six companies in Xiamen, with its businesses covering research and development, manufacturing, engineering, sales, services, and supply chain management. Their core products, such as medium voltage switchgears and circuit breakers, outdoor switches, and low voltage systems, have been widely applied to key projects like the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, the Shanghai metro network, and the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway line.

Over years of development, ABB Group has partnered with Xiamen in the construction of various fields, including electric power, industrial engineering, transportation, and infrastructure, such as the Xiamen metro network, Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport, as well as the city's cross-sea bridges.

In addition to continuing to invest in Xiamen, ABB Group is dedicated to organizing social and public undertakings, developing local innovation, as well as boosting local services and talent cultivation.

Behind ABB Group's development in Xiamen is the city's good business environment, supportive polices, and services.

As a result, ABB Group remains confident with the development of Xiamen, remaining committed to contributing to the city's social and economic development.
