The Fujian events of the 2021 China Cybersecurity Week were launched in Fuzhou on Oct 11 and will run across the province until Oct 17.

Fujian province will take the event as an opportunity to promote the importance of cybersecurity and to boost the establishment of a secure cyber environment.

Various activities will be held in both online and offline venues during the week, such as cybersecurity achievement exhibitions, knowledge and skill competitions, as well as theme day activities.

Fujian province has been bolstering its efforts to bolster cybersecurity in recent years. For instance, the province took the lead in establishing a provincial-level in-depth coordination mechanism for Internet Protocol Version 6 with provincial leaders as callers.

The province has also formed a coordination group involving 36 provincial departments to work on provincial network and information security.

Efforts have also been made to protect the security of citizens' personal information and data, as well as to enhance businesses' cybersecurity capabilities.

The Cyberspace Administration of Fujian, provincial department of education, and six universities have worked together to build a training demonstration base for cybersecurity talents.

The province has also held a variety of competitions to boost public knowledge and skills in cybersecurity in recent years.
