How is clay transformed into a ceramic toilet? What does a factory equipped with the most advanced 5G technology look like? And how can an industrial park be more exciting than an amusement park?

Find your answers at the world's first 5G smart ceramic factory, developed by Jomoo Kitchen & Bath Co Ltd in Yongchun county, Quanzhou, Fujian province, in collaboration with Siemens and China Telecom.

At the smart factory, "5G+" robots are deployed for intelligent detection and quality control. Manufacturing systems will sound an alarm if rework is required, or scrap the product if it detects anything abnormal. Quality control information will be displayed on 5G screens in the workshops for real-time monitoring.

Automated guided vehicles bustle around the factory, efficiently transporting the new toilets around. Their built-in 5G telecommunication modules allow the vehicles to work in a network with low delay, high reliability and safety, even while on the move.

Moreover, the smart operation center of the facility uses Huawei's modular machine rooms and China Telecom's 5G technology. It is capable of conducting information collection and analysis on energy consumption, equipment capacity, comprehensive equipment efficiency, and visual production.

This solves problems in the ceramic manufacturing sector, including difficulties in effectively combining production management and control with the internet, conducting real-time supervision of equipment operation status, and issuing real-time misfunction warnings.

The 5G digitalized factory is expected to increase production efficiency by 35 percent, reduce energy consumption per output value by 7 percent, cut enterprise operating costs by 8 percent, and reduce the cost of poor quality by 5 percent.
