Tourism brings new look to Wulong village
Red tourism and eco-tourism have brought vitality to Wulong, a remote village hidden in the forest-clad mountains in western Fujian province.
The village is in close proximity to site of the Gutian Conference, a decisive event in the history of the Communist Party of China and the Red Army, the predecessor of the People's Liberation Army. It boasts picturesque landscapes, centuries-old Hakka culture and well-preserved ancient buildings.
With the support from the provincial and municipal governments, the village has been advancing rural vitalization on all fronts, improving people's well-being and building a new countryside that is beautiful, prosperous and harmonious.
In recent years, the village has intensified efforts to facilitate red tourism and eco-tourism to boost local farmers' income. It has also made concerted efforts to protect the environment.
