The coastal city of Xiamen in East China's Fujian province has launched an array of activities to bolster its night economy and tours, local media reported on May 31.

The night tour program entitled "Enjoy the moonlight on the sea," which was upgraded from the night cruise on the Lujiang River and launched on May 29, offers visitors a way to enjoy the charming night views of the Lujiang River by boat.

The night cruise on the Lujiang River has a history of more than 20 years and received a cumulative total of nearly three million passengers, making it as popular as Guangzhou's night cruise on the Pearl River.

The newly-launched night-tour program features ancient customs and integrates classic Minnan (southern Fujian) cultural elements such as tea art performances, mooncake gambling games, and puppet shows.
