East China’s Fujian province is attempting to minimize the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak on the province's poverty alleviation efforts and rolled out measures to ensure that spring farming duties are not affected by the outbreak of the virus.
A support team was sent by the provincial government to Guangze county, Nanping city to help local farmers with spring farming duties on March 14.
During a tour of the county, the team learned about the area’s epidemic prevention and control efforts, efforts to resume work and production, spring ploughing, agricultural technological training, and poverty alleviation efforts.
The team also arranged for technicians to be sent to the countryside to conduct technical training and educate farmers. More technical workers will be trained in the county in order to promote the development of its agricultural sector.
2020 will be a decisive year in the quest to eliminate poverty, and Fujian will do its best to minimize the impact of the epidemic on social and economic development in an effort to realize the national goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects.
