As of Feb 24, Fujian had sent a total of 1,393 medical staff to help Hubei province in its fight against the deadly novel coronavirus pneumonia, 274 of whom had been sent to Yichang, a city in the southwestern part of the province, according to local media reports.

On Feb 23, an investigation team dispatched by the Fujian Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention were sent to Yichang to help the city conduct research on epidemiology and infectious-disease control.

The team, consisting of nine members working in the field of infectious disease epidemiology, will conduct epidemiological investigations, analyze data, evaluate the epidemic control situation, and investigate those who have been in close contact with patients.

In addition, enterprises in Fujian have been sourcing medical supplies from around the world.

Fujian Acetron New Materials Company donated 2,280 pieces of protective suits worth 650,000 yuan ($92,672) to Yichang on Feb 22. Local customs at Fuzhou Changle International Airport provided guidance throughout the process, cleared the supplies, and helped deliver them to the front lines in Yichang.
