Intl sister cities support Fujian in coronavirus battle

After the outbreak of the novel coronavirus in China, many international sister cities and organizations expressed their solidarity to Fujian province. They also spoke highly of the greater efforts China has made to better control the spread of the epidemic, local media reported Feb 17.

Fujian has received messages of concern from 25 countries and 30 sister cities, as well as 18 non-governmental organizations.

Tomislav Nikolic, former president of Serbia, expressed his solidarity with China and the Chinese people, and said that Serbia is willing to make every effort to provide Fujian with all-around support to help with the coronavirus.

Malu Dreyer, the governor of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate in Germany, said that China made these efforts not only for the sake of its own people, but also for the people of the world, and we will benefit a lot from China’s efforts in preventing the spread of COVID-19.

H. Ganjar Pranowo, governor of Central Java province in Indonesia, conveyed his deep sympathy and solidarity with the Chinese people. He said that he firmly believes that Chinese people and Fujian people will deal with the epidemic with strength, and he has faith that China can win the battle against the virus.

In addition, international sister cities from the United States, the United Kingdom, South Korea and Indonesia have donated urgently needed medical materials to Fujian, including face masks, protective suits, goggles and disposable gloves. They all gave good wishes to Fujian's people through the Fujian Provincial Foreign Affairs Office.
