Ningde expo posts deals valued at 62.93b yuan

A total of 168 deals worth 62.93 billion yuan ($9.39 billion) were reached at the ongoing 10th Cross-Straits Electric Motor & Home Appliance Expo in Ningde, East China's Fujian province, official data show.

The deals covered the sectors including new energy batteries, new energy vehicles, stainless steel materials, copper materials, food processing and cultural tourism. More than 190 companies SAIC Motor and CATL and over 1,200 purchasers from across the world took part in the event.

The expo encompasses four zones showcasing motors and home appliances, Ningde's four pillar industries, the achievement the city has achieved in poverty alleviation, the accomplishments Ningde has made in supporting Hutubi county of Changji prefecture in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

Two forums focusing on the development of electric ships and automotive chips were held on the sidelines of the expo, with business executives, scholars and experts sharing their insights into the future growth of the two sectors.

The expo is jointly sponsored by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Ningde municipal people's government.
