A total of 310 Taiwan businesses are taking part in the ongoing second 21st Century Maritime Silk Road Expo & the 21st Straits Economic and Trade Fair in Fuzhou, capital city of East China's Fujian province.

Lin Kuolung, a pottery artisan from Taiwan, said it was his fifth time to attend the fair, adding that he had made a lot of friends via the platform while promoting Taiwan pottery skills and culture to mainland residents.

Tseng Sihtseng, another first-time exhibitor from Taiwan, considered traveling to Fuzhou to attend the fair a rewarding experience.

He said that the event is influential and a good platform to tap the mainland market, as it attracts a lot of attendees.

"It seems that plenty of people are interested in blue dying, a traditional dying method, and I was busy introducing it in the morning," said Tseng, who is running a dying factory in Changhua of Taiwan.

The expo, covering an area of 120,000 square meters with 4,500 booths, aims to be a platform to expand links with Taiwan and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road countries and to share the dividends generated by economic growth with these countries and regions.

The expo is slated to run until May 22.
