Zheng Chenggong (1624 – 1662), better known worldwide by his Hokkien honorific Koxinga or Coxinga, born in Nan'an, Quanzhou of Fujian province, was a militarist and a national hero during the late Ming and early Qing dynasties.

Zheng was a Ming loyalist who resisted the Qing conquest of China in the 17th century, fighting them on China's southeastern coast.

In 1661, Zheng recaptured Taiwan after driving Dutch invaders away in 1661 and ruled the island as the Kingdom of Tungning from 1661 to 1683
