Gong Peiyu, better known by her pen name Shu Ting, was born in Jinjiang, a county level city in Fujian province in 1952. She is a Chinese poet and is widely recognized as a leading female representative of the Misty Poets.
Shu moved to Xiamen at a young age with her parents. Before writing poetry, she used to a farmer and was later a factory worker. In 1979, her work was published in several literary magazines.
Shu won the National Outstanding Poetry Award in 1981 and 1983.
