Fuzhou General Hospital of Nanjing Military Command (also known as Oriental Hospital) was established in August 1949 and has a glorious history. The hospital occupies 380,000 square meters (570 acres) and houses 2,100 beds. It serves approximately 62,000 inpatients, 1.7 million outpatients and performs over 26,000 operations annually. This research-oriented hospital is best known for organ transplantation.
