Founded in 1937, Fujian Provincial Hospital, invested by Hu Wenhu, an overseas Chinese, is the first public hospital in Fujian run by a Chinese. Now it has developed into a non-profit tertiary hospital affiliated to the Fujian provincial Commission of Health and Family Planning. With 2,398 beds and over 3,500 staff, the hospital serves approximately 80,000 inpatients and 2 million outpatients annually.
