Chinese manufacturers should step up efforts to be "greener" amid the tightened access to international markets and growing pressure in supply chain, an industry expert said.

According to Shi Yiming, chief analyst with Made-in-China.com, a B2B e-commerce platform, Chinese manufacturers should further improve degradation of raw materials, quicken the transformation of environment-friendly plants and use more of clean energy in the manufacturing process.

Shi made those remarks at the First New Material Innovation Forum in Xiamen, Fujian province. The forum discussed different ways to make China-made products greener and thus more popular in the international markets.

The e-commerce platform also offered promotional opportunities for environment-friendly products and set up a special channel for them, in its latest efforts to advocate for green development in international trade.
