Fujian's GDP up 8.8% in first three quarters

The gross domestic product of Fujian province in the first three quarters of this year exceeded 3.52 trillion yuan ($550.12 billion), up 8.8 percent year-on-year, the provincial statistics bureau announced on Oct 20.

The total output value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery in the province reached 322.91 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.9 percent and an average increase of 4.2 percent in two years.

Industrial production maintained steady growth. The added value of industries above designated size increased by 10.8 percent year-on-year, and the gap with the national added value narrowed by 0.3 percentage points compared with the first half of this year.

Due to adjustments to the manufacturing structure in Fujian, the added value of the high-tech manufacturing industry and equipment manufacturing industry increased by 29.1 percent and 17.4 percent respectively, with an average increase of 16.1 percent and 10.0 percent respectively over the same period in 2019.

The service industry has also been growing steadily, with the added value increasing by 10 percent in the first three quarters. The revenue of transportation, internet and related services, leasing and business services, as well as scientific research and technical services grew by 26.8 percent, 28.8 percent, 62.1 percent and 19.7 percent respectively.
