A series of activities aimed at stimulating consumption launched on Aug 22 in Fengze district in Quanzhou, a city in East China's Fujian province.

From Aug 22 to the first quarter of 2021, Quanzhou will organize a variety of promo activities combined with traditional consumption peaks and key holidays, striving to drive the city's consumption to 10 billion yuan (1.45 billion).

The city plans to hold more than 100 various offline promotions – including shopping festivals and nightlife festivals – and actively mobilize merchants to participate.

Batches of electronic consumer vouchers will be issued and can be used for shopping, dining, entertainment, leisure, cultural tourism and sports.

More than 500 livestreaming events by various brand enterprises will launch on platforms such as Tmall, Taobao, JD.com, Kuaishou and Douyin, to showcase Quanzhou's valuable industries, brand enterprises and quality products.

Between now and the end of the year, five to eight car sales and service activities will be held in Anxi, Yongchun and Dehua counties to drive automobile sales in rural areas.

At Yuanhe 1916 Creative Industry Park, Taihe Plaza and Xinmen Block, cultural markets will be held every month to grow the nighttime economy.

The city will also strictly implement the national policy of reducing electricity costs, lowering power prices by 5 percent in stages for hotels, restaurants and other commercial ventures.
