Highlights of Fujian government's work report

The sixth session of the 13th Fujian Provincial People's Congress opened on Jan 22 in Fuzhou, Fujian province, with Zhao Long, acting governor of Fujian province, delivering the government's work report. 

According to the report, Fujian province generated 4.88 trillion yuan ($770.42 billion) in GDP in 2021, up 8 percent from 2020.

The province's total revenue from the general public budget reached 574.3 billion yuan, up 11.3 percent from 2020.

The province's consumer price index (CPI) rose 0.7 percent, and the imports and exports increased 30.9 percent.

The registered urban unemployment rate in 2021 was 3.3 percent. The per capita disposable income of urban residents and rural residents were 51,140 yuan and 23,229 yuan, respectively, up 8.4 percent and 11.2 percent from 2020.

Fujian has set the major goals for social and economic development in 2022, which include increasing the provincial GDP by 6.5 percent, the province's total revenue from the general public budget by 5 percent, the fixed assets investment by 6.5 percent, the total retail sales of consumer goods by 9 percent, exports by 8 percent, and the per capita disposable income of urban residents and rural residents by 7 percent and 8 percent, respectively. 

The government's goals also include keeping the surveyed urban unemployment rate within 5.5 percent, and increasing the CPI by about 3 percent and stabilizing the total grain output at 5.07 million tons.
