Fujian invited to attend national entrepreneurship, innovation expo

A promotion conference of the 4th China Entrepreneurship & Innovation Expo was held in Fuzhou, capital city of Fujian province on July 31.

Representatives from more than 100 enterprises, associations and universities across the province attended the conference.

With the theme that 5G changes society and technology leads the future, the expo will kick off in Ulanqab in Inner Mongolia autonomous region from August 12 to 16. Consisting of forums and exhibitions, the expo is expected to gather guests including government leaders, academicians, experts and entrepreneurs nationwide.

Nearly 400 enterprises will present at the expo with a 30,000-square-meter exhibition area divided into four sections displaying 5G applications, intelligent technologies in healthcare, culture and tourism as well as Inner Mongolia and China's achievements in entrepreneurship and innovation.

One of its biggest highlights will be 5G-enabled innovative applications in various industries and fields, alongside with unmanned vehicles and drones

Ulanqab has become a magnet for investment from high-tech companies, banking on its advantageous geographical location with numerous railways and highways passing by.

According to Zhang Xiaolong, deputy head of Ulanqab Municipal Department of Publicity, a science and technology industrial park jointly built by Beijing and Ulanqab was established in the city and has attracted world-leading tech giants such as Apple, Huawei and Alibaba.

Industry clusters of big data cloud and computing industry cluster are also taking shape in the city, Zhang said.

He added that Ulanqab now aims to develop sectors inlcluding big data, logistics, tourism, new energy, new materials, and characteristic agriculture and animal products and hoped that the expo,an important platform for the city to lure investments, will bring more opportunities to the region.

Official data shows that the past three editions saw the sealing of over 70 contracts valued at 20 billion yuan ($2.98 billion), with attendance of nearly 1,000 companies, research institutes and universities.

Zhang invited enterprises from Fujian to attend the expo in the hope of deepening mutual friendship and promote bilateral economic ties.
