Amazon, the American e-commerce giant, launched its second cross-border e-commerce park in China in Xiamen, Fujian province as part of its Global Selling program on May 25.

The program aims to help companies expand into new markets and sell to millions of overseas customers, with the e-commerce giant's operations in ten international marketplaces and customers in nearly 180 countries.

The Xiamen Cross-Border E-commerce Park is expected to offer one-stop service to enterprises in the coastal city and the surrounding areas, including logistics, finance, operation, technology talent training.

"Xiamen boasts huge advantages in exporting clothes, furniture and outdoor lighting fixtures", Peng Jiaqi, vice-president of Amazon China, said at the opening ceremony. "The Amazon Global Selling program helps connect those local manufacturers to millions of customers worldwide."

Data from Xiamen Statistics Bureau shows that in 2017, approximately 48 million pieces of goods worth 3.7 billion yuan ($580 million) were traded by cross-border companies, up by 18.7 percent year-on-year.

As part of the Amazon Global Selling program at the Xiamen Cross-Border E-Commerce Park, Amazon plans to launch a project named "Xiamen Brand 100" with the Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Commerce.

The project will implement customized solutions in the areas of operations, marketing, logistics and talent training for 100 selected local companies to help expand their international market through the Amazon Global Selling program.

Xiamen, one of the earliest four special economic zones in China, is home to the largest free trade area in Fujian province and due to its geographical location, its airports and seaports are favorable to cross-border e-commerce.
