The 13th Pinghe Honey Pomelo Festival kicked off in Pinghe on Sept 27.

Pinghe, a county-level city in South China’s Fujian province, is dubbed the “Capital of Chinese Pomeloes". Its large, tasty, juicy Guanxi honey pomeloes are much favored by customers from home and abroad.

The festival, which has been held for 12 years in a row, is designed to promote sales of the famous local specialty across the world.

This year's event has witnessed the signing of 17 contracts with a combined investment of 3.4 billion yuan ($510 million).

A total of 27 companies inked deals with local fruit enterprises to order 32,000 kilograms of honey pomeloes.
