The expo is organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the China National Light Industry Council and China Sporting Goods Federation and sponsored by the Quanzhou government, the Fujian Provincial Chamber of International Commerce, the China Leather and Footwear Industry Research Institute and the China Leather Industry Association.
After 18 years of development, the expo has been regarded as a weathervane of the Chinese and international footwear industry. This year's expo sets up three main exhibition areas for sports goods, footwear material and shoe machinery and provides 2,200 international-standard booths in the 60,000-square-meter exhibition area.
As a bridgehead on the Maritime Silk Road, Jinjiang has been taking opportunities brought by the national Belt and Road Initiative. This year's expo has set up "Belt and Road Pavilion" for the first time for exhibitors from countries such as Vietnam, India, Bangladesh and Uzbekistan in a bid to facilitate business exchange and cooperation with Southeast and Central Asia.
The Taiwan Pavilion, which has been set up for 11 consecutive years, is another highlight of the expo. Taiwan boasts the most advanced footwear making technology in the world, especially well-known for its footwear machinery. The Taiwan Footwear Manufacturers Association and Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry will take part in the event. They will organize a series of exchange activities concerning sports equipment, smart sports and sportswear and introduce Taiwan designers and design institutions to Jinjiang.
Over the past 18 years, the expo has played a crucial role in boosting the development of the city's shoe manufacturing industry and promoting the awareness of local footwear brands around the country and throughout the world, including Anta, Xtep and 361 Degrees.
As the expo is not only a show for footwear, but also for the sports industry, it is trying to promote itself to focus on the whole chain of sports industry. There also has a series of glamorous supporting activities during the expo, including a forum on the city's sports industrial development and an inauguration ceremony for the city's "Internet Plus Footwear Industry" project, providing a platform for high-level industrial communication and discussion.
Bringing sports goods, sports marketing resources, sports culture and science together, the 19th Jinjiang Footwear and Sports Industry International Expo is expected to be a high-end platform for sports industry development.
